Defining the Taste of Luxury Beer: Japan's First Luxury Beer "ROCOCO Tokyo"

RECIPE

ROCOCO Developed its Recipe Under the Supervision of Fine Dining Leaders

STORY
STORY

We designed the ROCOCO recipe to honor Japan’s exceptional food culture and to elevate the fine dining experience. By creating a beer that perfectly complements the delicate tastes of fine cuisine without overpowering its flavors, ROCOCO quickly became established within Japan’s prestigious fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels.

We developed the ROCOCO recipe in close collaboration with the fine dining chefs, sommeliers, and guests of Tokyo's leading restaurants, and refined it through their feedback until every element elevated the fine dining experience.

The result is ROCOCO’s fruity and elegant flavor, its creamy texture, its sharp finish, its strong visual impression, and its trademark fresh taste. Every Bottle of ROCOCO is Brewed ROCOCO from the Natural SpringWater of Mount Fuji, the International Symbol of Japan. ROCOCO is made exclusively with the highest quality natural ingredients and no additives in order to keep our product as pure and natural as possible and to align with fine dining’s rigorous standards.

To reach the highest quality beer possible by global standards, we collaborated with Dr. Hugo Patino, a world-leading beer recipe development expert with over 30 years of experience based in California, the global hub for cutting-edge brewing technology. Prototype samples were developed in California, air-shipped to Japan, and critiqued by fine dining restaurants and customers. Over 18 months, we continuously refined the recipe based on their feedback, working alongside leading chefs and sommeliers to pursue a flavor that perfectly complements the fine cuisine and delicate flavors Japan is known for.

NAMING

STORY
STORY

The Meaning of "ROCOCO"

ROCOCO represents passion and luxury, which are the core of our brand. One of our founders chose the name after realizing that “ROCOCO” spelled backward is “KOKORO,” the Japanese word for “heart.” This reflects our sincere respect toward the craftsmanship, creativity, history, dedication, and hospitality of the chefs and sommeliers of fine dining restaurants. It also represents our founder's commitment to creating innovative brands and products that aim to further elevate the fine dining experience. The name also references the 18th-century European Rococo movement, known for its elegance and artistry.

Our Tokyo Connection

Tokyo is where our founders met, designed, and launched ROCOCO. As the city with the most Michelin-starred restaurants in the world and a global culinary capital, it holds deep meaning for us. The “Tokyo” in our brand name is therefore an acknowledgment of our origin.

DESIGN

Logo Concept

If you look closely at our “ROCOCO” logo, you will notice that it is composed of 3 "O"s. Each of them is superimposed and positioned at different angles. These three different "O"s represent our 3 different founders coming together with a common vision to bring ROCOCO to life.

Our Label Design

The textured label on our bottle reflects the movement and freshness of our brand. Its memorable image and feeling when touched reinforces our commitment to sensory design. For us, design is more than appearance, it is a language we use to speak directly to our customers.
